Dinosaur Jr. Farm

Got this last week thanks to the preorder on Jagjaguwar, although I think I was supposed to get a free poster of the graphic above. Anyhow, it's starting to sink in and I am digging it. The album on a whole is way more expansive than "Beyond", infact three of the songs top over six minutes long, "Plans", "Said the People" and "I Don't Wanna Go There". The Dino sound print is here on full showcase though if you're already a fan like I am you'll probably dig it, if not you may what to start off with their watershed album, 1987's "You're Living All Over Me". Although I didn't like "Farm" immediately, it's taken several listens to get to a point where I can appreciate the the long drawn out tracks just as much as the shorter ones. Only complaint is that at times I just wish some of the Bass was crunchier especially on "There's No Here", although at the moment it's still my favorite track off the album. More Rando Stuff

Yeah, not really a real update of sorts more so shameless plugging my friend Annie's site Your Baby is Lame. I'm helping her out a bit with some updates. Check it out. Been digging the new Amesoeurs album quite a bit of late. It's supposedly listed as French Black metal but I wouldn't say that's a fair representation. I'd say it's more of a straight ahead rocking Alcest, another French metal band mirrored in dark shoe-gazer (it's not really surprising most of that band makes up Amesoeurs) Totally epic souding but could seriously do without the cookie monster growling (only on two tracks) but aside from that its pretty great.
This is probably my favorite track on the album at the moment.

Totally stoked that the new Dinosaur Jr. album, "Farm", is coming out next month on June 23rd. You can stream a few tunes off their mspace page. There's also a free download on their website here dinosaurjr.com. Totally digging "Over It".
